2010 Academy Awards

I would like to thank my PVR for catching most of the festivities. Who knew the Academy Awards would run over by so much? I missed recording some of the awards (aka The Good Ones) but lucked out and caught them livel

I was glad to see there weren’t any unfortunate surprises (Hurt Locker won for story, Avatar won for looking pretty). The comedy spots were painful in areas, like watching Alec Baldwin reading the teleprompter while chiding people in the crowd. “Oh Look it’s Matt Damon,” he told the camera while looking nowhere near Damon. The Ben Stiller / Avatar bit also came out flat, probably due to Sasha Baron Cohen pulling out of the bit as they came close to crunch time. Tina Fey / Robert Downey Jr spot was gold.
